Walks and events
This page is updated weekly, check back for updates.
This week:
Please read: For our standard walks, please wear sensible footwear (ideally walking boots, or something comfortable, hardy and water-resistant). You’ll also need a waterproof coat, warm clothing, lunch, snacks and enough water for the day. Waterproof trousers could be very handy if it rains too!
Speaking of trousers… Please don’t wear jeans! Seriously though, jeans stay very wet in the rain, which could make you very cold out on the hills. We ask that you follow this simple rule for the safety of our walkers - we really don’t want to turn you away on the day!
***Hope to Bamford via Win Hill (Saturday 25th March 2023) ***
Starting from Hope railway station, we'll make our way through fields and farmland and begin a gentle ascent up Hope Brink. We'll then summit Win Hill, where we'll hopefully get some stunning (albeit drizzly!) views of the countryside. From there, we'll drop down to the edge of Ladybower Reservoir and follow the River Derwent to Bamford, the Gateway to the Hope Valley, where cafes and pubs galore await! We aim to be back in Sheffield before 16:30. HOPE to see you there! ;)
Length: 10.5 km / 6.5 miles, Medium Difficulty

***Edale to Hope via Hollins Cross (Sunday 26th March)***
Prepare for a day of climbing and hills! Starting out in the village of Edale we will start climbing immediately, all the way up to Rushup Edge. Once up on the ridge we’ll continue along there for most of the day passing the famous Mam Tor summit along with Hollins Cross and Lose Hill which should provide us with stunning views of the Hope Valley below. We’ll then descend down into Hope in time for a stop at either the pub or café! Should arrive back in Sheffield at 17:05.
Length: 13.2km/492m climbing/medium difficulty.
